A little help
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before you capture their next favorite word.
How do we use Tiny Takes?
Pick a deck of picture prompts, hold your iPhone facing your child, and start recording. Move through the cards at their pace. Afterward, choose your favorite takes, trim them, and save a captioned keepsake to Photos or share it with family.
Which languages does Tiny Takes support?
Tiny Takes is available in English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, and Greek. This includes the app's menus and built-in word prompts.
Where do the captions come from?
Captions use the prompt words you choose. Tiny Takes keeps your child's real voice in the video; it doesn't transcribe or analyze their speech. The picture says “banana,” and their own little version is the part you get to keep.
Can I add our own words and photos?
Yes. Custom decks let you add words and photos of favorite people, pets, toys, or anything else they love to name. The photos stay on the device where you add them.
Can I choose which moments to keep?
Absolutely. Review each take, leave out any you don't want, and trim the beginning or end. You can choose word or picture overlays and add music before making your finished video. Your original recording stays unchanged while you edit.
Are our family videos private?
Tiny Takes works on your iPhone without an account or a public feed. We don't upload your recordings to Tiny Takes servers. You decide whether to export or share them. Depending on your Apple settings, projects may be included in device or iCloud backups; custom-deck photos are excluded. Read our Privacy Policy for the details.
How do I keep my videos safe?
Save your favorite finished keepsakes to Photos and include your device in your own backup routine. Tiny Takes doesn't have a server copy to recover if you delete a project or remove the app. Videos already saved to Photos are separate copies.
